The Rift: River North Esk is an original relief (linocut) print hand made using Caligo black relief printing ink on Ho-Sho Japanese paper.
The River North Esk runs along the geological rift separating Highlands and Lowlands - Highland Boundary Fault - which adds to the magical impression of this beautiful hidden glen.
This work also forms part of a series of prints influenced by the travel writing and illustrations from the celebrated American artist Rockwell Kent; and reflections on insignificance of a human being in the face of the power and age of Nature. Please see separate listings for companion pieces.
