Analogue Modes
Analogue Modes is a collection of collagraph prints that captures the quiet presence of obsolete machines—fragments of once-functional objects that shaped our daily lives. Drawing from vintage mechanical parts like linotype presses, elevator gates, cinema reels, and lift control panels, each print offers a partial view—a worn edge, a gesture toward function now suspended in time. Rendered with rich textures and deep contrasts, the prints visually echo the aesthetic of old black-and-white photographs, emphasizing the tactile, handcrafted nature of analogue processes. This connection to photographic tradition deepens the sense of memory embedded in these mechanical fragments, highlighting the physicality of objects designed for precise function but now resting in stillness. Through layered plates and carefully built surfaces, the work celebrates the rhythm and materiality of analog systems—offering a visual archive of motion, utility, and the human touch behind the machine.
