Cruachan Dam is an original relief (linocut) print hand made using Caligo black relief printing ink on Ho-Sho Japanese paper.
Inspired by the visit to the Cruachan Power Station and particularly the legend of Chruachan telling a story of the Cailleach Bheur and formation of the Loch Awe. After climbing a ‘shortcut’ to the dam we found breathtaking views and a powerful wind.
This work also forms part of a series of prints influenced by the travel writing and illustrations from the celebrated American artist Rockwell Kent; and reflections on insignificance of a human being in the face of the power and age of Nature. Please see separate listings for companion pieces.
The print is signed and numbered limited edition of 20.

Display behind glass or acrylic with a window mount, and restrict exposure to direct sunlight. Archival grade and acid free materials should be used when framing.
Due to the nature of materials and the process there would be slight imperfections and variations between each print in the edition.
