Printmaking/ Mixed Media Art Studio
My work is inspired by remote places and the idea of escape, whether real or imaginary. This may involve journeying into the wilderness, contemplating a flower, or delving into abstraction. With much of my work focuses on mountains, I gravitate towards bold lines, high contrast, and a stylised form of expression, striving to convey a sense of movement and the sculptural qualities of these landscapes.
My latest works also employ visual textures and soft gradients in monoprints and collagraphs, exploring a new aesthetic direction rooted in my drawing practice. Many of my landscapes are sketched directly on site and later completed in the studio.

The Wall: Grand cliffs of the North Face of Ben Nevis

A subtractive layered monoprint in greyscale depicting the north face of Ben Nevis. The image is developed through palette knife work, brushstrokes, and drawn textures, combining rough, gestural marks with finer detail.
Dark tonal forms emphasise the verticality of the cliffs, set against a lighter foreground and sky. A faint backlight along the ridge enhances depth and atmosphere, evoking the scale and severity of the landscape.
Studio
My settled studio is a room in my home. My outpost studio, more often than not, is a tent pitched somewhere in the hills.
